These calculations are:-Īyanamsa: The commonly used Ayanamsa in vogue in North India is Chitrapaksha/Lahiri. So, what are these calculations which one needs to look into! I present in this article the Top 3. Earlier, even a Time Rectification of 1 hour or more was not giving the desired results. Convinced, I tested the same set of calculations on the charts of many family members, and surprisingly, even there I hardly needed to rectify time beyond a few seconds to max a few minutes. Instead of trying to adjust/rectify my Time of Birth, I started testing the myriad of calculations which went into making of the chart in the first place.Īfter years of painstaking research and frustrations along the way, finally, I landed at a chart that was reflecting my life reasonably accurately, without having to manipulate any Astrological rule and without having to change my birth time beyond more than few seconds! Suddenly, my own chart made so much more sense. I decided to first try and better understand my own chart. Sure, some events could be understood, but not to a level of percentage which would convince me that the rules of Astrology were working without having to resort to, what I would say, a clever manipulation of the rules! This set me on a path of Research. Then I was told that it is not possible to understand one’s own chart due to the biases one has about own-self, so don’t even try it! Complications arose though, when I could only partially understand the charts of many of my family members. Later, when I self studied and learnt Astrology, I could not understand my own chart accurately enough and for many years continued with the belief that my Time of Birth was incorrect. I also thought that my Time of Birth was inaccurate, as the Astrologers I went to could not accurately gauge the events of my life. Often, rather, more than often, when Astrologers are unable to understand the events of a person’s life through their Astrochart, they assume that the persons time of birth is inaccurate, and hence, resort to what is known as Time Rectification. Default Calculation Settings of many Vedic Astrology Softwares are perhaps incorrect!
